Bilal Shakir
2T8 Class Co-President
About Me
Hello! My name is Bilal Shakir (he/him), and I am honored to serve as one of the Co-presidents for the Class of 2T8! Before Medical School, I obtained an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences Degree at the University of Calgary. During this time, I had amazing opportunities to connect with individuals from many cultures and backgrounds, and I am excited to apply these experiences in my new role.
Outside of school, you can catch me playing intramural sports with my classmates, going on long evening walks, yapping with friends at the MSB lounge, and demolishing food at restaurants around the city! I sincerely look forward to everything this journey will bring!

Sara Pollanen
2T8 Class Co-President
About Me
Hello! I’m Sara Pollanen (she/her), and I’m so excited to serve as one of the 2T8 Class Co-presidents! Before medical school, I studied Health Sciences at Queen’s University and absolutely loved my time there—it’s where I discovered my passion for meeting new people and taking on new challenges.
Fun fact about me: I’m a scuba diver with an endless supply of ocean facts—just ask! Whether it’s shipwrecks or coral reefs, I’m always happy to share a good story. I’m also a Candy Crush enthusiast (currently crushing it on level 12,000) and proud of my quick reflexes when it comes to snagging concert tickets. Outside of class, I love exploring the city and finding little ways to make each day brighter.
I’m so excited to dive into this incredible journey with all of you, let’s make this year unforgettable!
